After reading about the many knockoffs or "clones" of this particular camera I am glad I went with MyPoliceStore who is selling the bona fide, authentic aluminum-body camera with durable slide switches. You will get what you pay for with the knockoffs, many of which look the same in a picture but are made of cheap plastic and have switches that are reportedly more prone to breakage. After a cursory checkout this camera is more than adequate for simple, discrete recordings, producing very good quality video (640x480 I believe) and audio. It's not a full-blown camcorder, so don't expect all the bells and whistles of such products, but for $90 (includes shipping) this product is more than adequate for simple recording. It is so small it almost looks like a tiny coaches whistle or USB flash drive when hanging from the neck, it's about the length of my pinky finger. It comes with several very useful accessories, including a variety of USB adapters and some attaching devices if needed. A mini-CD with software is included, but not necessary, as the files are in .AVI format and simply attaching the device to a computer via USB allows transferring. This camera can also perform as a Webcam (for this you might need the drivers from the mini-CD). A lanyard and rubber protector is also included. Thanks MPS. |
